Frequently
Asked Questions
What is your elevation at Mile High Test Services?
The elevation is 5344 feet above sea level. We are 64 feet higher
than a Mile above sea level.
Is it Snowing?
It does snow here, but not as much as people think. Colorado climate
is agreeable to most. It will snow 3+ inches at a time and then 2-3 days
later it will be 40 to 50 degrees and the snow melts. It is very rare
to have snow fall on existing snow on the ground.
I have a 12 layer board how much will it cost to have a test fixture
made?
The # of layers a circuit board has does not affect the
cost of a test fixture. What determines the price of test is the # of
test point
locations on the board that need to be accessed. The pitch and density
of those test points also affects the cost of the fixture. The tighter
the pitch and density results in taller fixtures. The common fixture
types are 1”, 2”, 3”, 3.75”.
What do I need to provide for a quote for a test fixture or to get
my boards tested?
To get an accurate firm quote we need the complete
set of gerber files received from your customer. This includes soldermask
and drill
data including step & repeat information.
What do I need to provide to get a quote for creating gerber files
from artwork or a sample board?
We need to know what layers you
need created. Do you need a complete set of gerber files or just particular
layers? Provide us with what layers
are needed, the dimensions (length & width) of the board and a copy
of the layers via fax, or pdf, jpeg, tif, etc. emailed. We will provide
a quote immediately upon receipt of this information.
What do I need to provide to have a drill file created?
We can create a drill file from a sample board (measuring the holes
in the board with the use of pin gauges). We can also create a drill
file from a circuit layer of film and a fab drawing indicating holes
sizes. Another way is to provides us a x,y table of the drill file.
When can we expect our order back?
Turn around time is determined by the customers need. We can turn
a fixture in the same day it is ordered if the data is received by 2:00
PM (MST). Test services are generally in and out in the same day. Scan
services to create gerber files are generally 24 to 36 hours.
